VR-1 Commuter
Belt drive, hub motor, no chain to oil. The bike we sell to people who just want to stop paying for parking.
Six electric models, one real workshop and none of the marketplace nonsense. We assemble every bike and scooter by hand in Vierhavens, then hand you the torque sheet with it.
Every model listed here is physically in the Rotterdam warehouse today. Ranges are measured by us, on Dutch roads, with a 78 kg rider — not copied from a supplier PDF.
Belt drive, hub motor, no chain to oil. The bike we sell to people who just want to stop paying for parking.
Mid-drive torque for gravel and climbs, with a 720 Wh pack that survives a full weekend away from a socket.
Folds in four seconds, fits under a café table, and takes tram tracks without trying to kill you. Tubeless 10-inch tyres.
Dual suspension, hydraulic brakes and a 936 Wh pack. For the 15 km commute that used to need a car.
Two kids, a week of groceries, or 180 kg of whatever your business moves. A two-leg stand that stays up, hydraulic discs, cargo box included.
MIPS helmet, Sold Secure Gold chain lock, waterproof pannier and a rear radar light. Everything you actually need on day one.
Drag the sliders. We compare the running cost of your current commute against 1.1 cents per kilometre of electricity and wear on a VoltRider.
Estimates only, based on 44 commuting weeks, return trips, 65 km of usable range per charge and 148 g CO₂ per car kilometre (EEA fleet average). Your electricity tariff and riding style will move these numbers.
Find your modelWe are a shop with a workshop attached, not a dropshipper with a logo. That difference shows up the first time something needs fixing.
Every unit is unboxed, torqued, trued and road-tested in Rotterdam before it ships. The signed check sheet travels in the box.
We stock controllers, cells, brake sets and screens for eight years after a model launches. Nothing here becomes disposable in 2028.
Published range figures come from our own loop through Rotterdam and Kralingen with a 78 kg rider on assist level 3, not from a factory spec sheet.
Book a van in Rotterdam, Amsterdam, Antwerp or Brussels and a mechanic comes to your street. Elsewhere in the EU we send a prepaid crate, service the bike within 48 hours of arrival and send it back.
Every service includes a printed cell-level health report, so you know the state of your pack before you sell the bike — not after.
Three questions decide almost every purchase: how far, how hilly, and where do you park it. Choose the profile that sounds like you.
Take the Dash S3 if you carry it up stairs or combine it with a train, and the VR-1 Commuter if you want to arrive without thinking about maintenance. Both handle Dutch and German city infrastructure without modification.
Add the Rider Kit: in this profile the lock matters more than the motor.
See both modelsGo for the VR Trail X if there is any climbing, or the Dash Pro if you need to fold it into an office. At this distance a mid-drive motor and a pack above 700 Wh stop being a luxury.
Mudguards, a dynamo light and winter tyres are worth more than another 10 Nm of torque.
See both modelsThe Cargo Haul L replaces a second car for most families inside a ring road. 180 kg of payload, a two-leg stand that actually stays up, and a box that takes two child seats.
Business buyers: we invoice ex-VAT within the EU and can register a small fleet under one service contract.

Buy online, or reserve a 30-minute test ride at the Vierhavens workshop. No deposit, no sales pitch.
Assembly, torque check, wheel true, firmware update and a 6 km road test. You get the signed sheet and the mechanic's name.
Two to five working days across the EU. Unfold the handlebars, charge it, ride. Packaging goes back with the courier.
Ride it in real traffic. If it is wrong, we collect it for free and refund the full amount — including the gear you bought with it.
Reviews come from verified orders, 60 days after delivery, when the novelty has worn off and the real opinion has arrived.
“Sold the second car in March. The Cargo Haul does the school run, the market and my deliveries, and the two free services meant I have spent nothing on it since.”
“Ordered the Dash Pro to Antwerp on a Tuesday, riding it Thursday. A spoke pinged after a month, they sent a mechanic to my street on the Saturday. That is the whole review.”
“The published 118 km range is honest, which I did not expect. Knocked off a star because the app is basic — although the bike works perfectly without ever opening it.”
We stock four helmets, two locks and three light sets — not forty. Everything on the shelf is something a mechanic here rides with, and every lock we sell is rated Sold Secure Gold or higher, which is what most EU insurers require before they will pay out on a theft claim.
Buy gear with a bike and the Rider Kit bundle takes €60 off the total.
No licence is required anywhere in the EU for a 25 km/h pedal-assist e-bike, and third-party insurance is optional in most countries. E-scooters are regulated nationally: the Netherlands, Germany, France and Belgium each have their own registration or plate rules, and we ship every scooter with the correct type-approval paperwork for the delivery country. If you are unsure, tell us where you live before ordering and we will confirm in writing.
Our packs retain at least 80 % of their original capacity after 800 full charge cycles — roughly six years of a 20 km daily commute. Keep the pack between 20 % and 80 % for daily use, store it around half charge in winter, and never leave it below 10 % for weeks. Replacement cells are stocked for eight years after a model launches, and a pack swap costs between €290 and €480 depending on the model.
Two ways. Book a free 30-minute test ride at the Vierhavens workshop in Rotterdam, or order online and use the 14-day home test ride: ride it in your own traffic, in your own weather, up your own hill. If it does not fit your life, we arrange a free collection and refund the full amount, including any gear bought with the bike.
Five years on the frame, three years on the motor and controller, and two years on the battery with a guaranteed 70 % minimum capacity in year two. Wear parts — tyres, brake pads, chains, belts, grips — are excluded, as is damage from crashes, unauthorised modification or pressure washing. Full detail is in our terms & conditions.
The first two services are free for every bike and scooter we sell. After that a full workshop service is €69: brake bleed, drivetrain, spoke tension, torque check, firmware update and a printed battery health report. Mobile service at your address in Rotterdam, Amsterdam, Antwerp or Brussels adds €25. Elsewhere in the EU we send a prepaid crate and return the bike within 48 hours of it reaching the workshop.
Yes — 36-month financing through our EU partner at 0 % APR on orders above €700, subject to approval. There is no deposit and no early-settlement fee. Business customers can lease instead, with maintenance bundled into the monthly rate; write to [email protected] for a fleet quote.
One e-mail every second Friday: what landed in the workshop, what is going out of stock, and honest range data from the test loop.
